Registration

Please email the symposium organizers directly for registration inquiries.

Instructors who use writing in their courses and administrators interested in inclusive curricula are cordially invited to register for “A Social Justice Framework For Anti-Racist Writing Assessment.” In this workshop, Dr. Inoue will lead participants from across campus in redesigning assignments and learning environments to encourage antiracist work with students and student writing.

Dr. Inoue’s pedagogy addresses the issues many teachers face when working with racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse students. Workshop participants will engage Dr. Inoue’s ideas in a writing assessment activity that promotes intersectional antiracist agendas and structures, particularly where it concerns the judgment of languages. Other examples of antiracist evaluation and classroom management strategies will be discussed as well.

The workshop is scheduled for Friday, October 27th from 9:30-11:30 in the Knight Library Browsing Room.

Seating is limited to 50 participants. We will open a wait list once these seats have filled.

Please do not hesitate to contact symposium organizers Emily Simnitt (esimnitt@uoregon.edu) and Brian Gazaille (gazaille@uoregon.edu) for registration inquiries and information about other ways to participate in the symposium.

We look forward to seeing you and developing new ways to promote equity and student success.
